Andrei Arshavin has today spoken out over the whole ordeal, he told Sky Sports that he thinks he is now an Arsenal player, and that he will sport the no. 23 on his back. "I think [I am an Arsenal player]," the former Zenit hotshot is quoted as saying. "The negotiations came to a close and the details will be revealed today. Now I can only say one thing: if I were to play for Arsenal then I would wear the number 23," he concluded. If the deal goes ahead then the 27-year-old could be in line to make a dream debut against Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
