WEATHER LEADS PREMIER LEAGUE TO EXTEND DEADLINE LONDON (AFP) – The Premier League said Monday they would allow clubs a transfer window extension beyond the 1700GMT deadline because of the snow-falls in Britain and Europe, provided certain conditions were met. The Premier League said they would need e-mail confirmation from both teams a deal had been agreed in principle and they would also need to be satisfied that it was the weather which had prevented the transfer being completed. Snowy conditions in Britain and elsewhere in Europe have threatened to delay medicals, the agreement of personal terms and the business of players putting pen-to-paper on contracts. The Premier League's announcement came after talks they held earlier Monday with both the Football Association and world governing body FIFA.
